Knowing Is Easy, Living Is Hard

Bridging the Gap Between What We Know and What We Do

Hi friend,

I’ve been sending these emails at odd hours, often late at night, as I write them at the end of each day.

Starting tomorrow, I’ll be scheduling them to go out in the morning instead—thanks for bearing with me!

Here’s my reflection from yesterday:

Knowing Is Easy, Living Is Hard

We all know what we should be doing. Eat healthy. Exercise. Be productive. Spend quality time with loved ones.

Yet, how often do we actually do these things consistently?

This is the knowledge-practice gap—the space between knowing what’s right and actually living it.

If knowledge alone was enough, we’d all be fit, successful, and perfectly disciplined. But the truth is, information doesn’t create transformation—action does.

I’ve seen this in my own life. I’ve read countless books on habits, discipline, and personal growth. But reading Atomic Habits doesn’t automatically make me consistent. Watching productivity videos doesn’t magically make me focused.

The real challenge isn’t acquiring knowledge—it’s putting it into practice.

So, how do we bridge the gap?

🔹 Start Small, But Start – Don’t wait for the perfect plan. Take action today, even if it’s tiny.
🔹 Create Systems, Not Just Goals – A goal is what you want; a system is how you get there. Focus on process, not just outcome.
🔹 Track & Reflect – What gets measured gets managed. Checking progress helps keep you accountable.
🔹 Embrace Imperfection – Slipping up is part of the process. The key is to keep going.

The gap between knowing and doing is where real growth happens.

What’s one thing you know you should be doing but haven’t fully committed to yet?
