🌱 We Are Born to Grow: Understanding the Power of a Growth Mindset
“The fixed mindset stands still, but the growth mindset moves forward.”
Mindset by Carol Dweck
Hi everyone!
Today, I want to talk about a transformative concept that has shaped how I approach challenges and growth: the growth mindset.
Coined by psychologist Carol Dweck, the idea is simple yet profound:
A fixed mindset believes abilities, intelligence, and talents are static—they can’t be changed.
A growth mindset, however, embraces the belief that with effort, learning, and perseverance, we can improve and evolve.
Why a Growth Mindset Matters
Having a growth mindset changes the way we see the world:
👉 Challenges become opportunities. Instead of fearing failure, you see it as a chance to learn.
👉 Effort is celebrated. Progress is about persistence, not innate talent.
👉 Feedback fuels growth. Criticism isn’t personal—it’s a tool for improvement.
As Dweck writes:
“Becoming is better than being.”
“The view you adopt for yourself profoundly affects the way you lead your life.”
A Personal Reflection
I used to shy away from things I wasn’t naturally “good at,” afraid of failing. But adopting a growth mindset has shifted my perspective. Now, when I face challenges, I remind myself:
Growth takes time.
Mistakes are part of the process.
Every step forward—no matter how small—is progress.
It’s not always easy, but embracing the process over perfection has made all the difference.
A Call to Action
Growth is for everyone, not just for babies—especially in today’s world, where rapid technological advancements and the need for constant upskilling have become the norm.
What’s one area in your life where you can apply a growth mindset?
