⏳ The Wealth You Don’t See – Reflections on Time & True Riches

Are you valuing your most precious assets?

The 5 Types of Wealth, Sahil Bloom

Hi friend,

Lately, I’ve been reflecting a lot on what real wealth means.

We usually associate wealth with money, status, or possessions. But what if true wealth isn’t measured in dollars?

Today, while reading The 5 Types of Wealth by Sahil Bloom, two ideas stuck with me:

1️⃣ The 15-visit rule – A powerful reminder of how little time we actually have with loved ones.
2️⃣ The concept of time billionaires – Understanding that, if we’re lucky, we have 1.5 billion seconds left to spend.

Both of these hit me hard and made me rethink how I define and use my wealth.

💰 The 5 Types of Wealth

Most books focus only on financial success, but Sahil Bloom redefines wealth into five core categories

It highlights how wealth isn’t just about money—it’s about living a rich life in all aspects.

💰 Financial wealth is just one piece of the puzzle.
Time wealth means controlling how you spend your days.
💡 Mental wealth is about inner peace and resilience.
❤️ Social wealth ensures you have meaningful relationships.
🏋️ Physical wealth reminds us that health is the foundation of everything.

This book made me think: Am I truly wealthy in all areas of my life?

When you look at wealth this way, you start to see that chasing money alone doesn’t lead to a rich life.

⏳ The 15-Visit Rule – A Reality Check

Sahil Bloom shares a sobering insight:

If your parents are in their 60s, and you see them once a year, you may have only 15 more visits left with them.

15.

That’s a shockingly small number.

When we think of time in years, it feels long. But when we break it down into real interactions, it forces us to rethink our priorities.

👉 What if you only had 15 more dinners left with your parents?
👉 What if you only had 10 more road trips with your closest friends?

Would you treat those moments differently?

💡 The Time Billionaire Mindset

Another concept from the book is being a "time billionaire."

If you’re in your early 30s, you have about 1.5 billion seconds left to live.

Even Warren Buffett, one of the richest people on earth, would trade all his wealth to be a time billionaire again.

Yet, we often treat money as more valuable than time—when in reality, time is the only wealth we can’t earn back.

This made me ask myself:
📌 Am I spending my time in a way that aligns with my values?
📌 Am I wasting time on things that don’t matter?
📌 Am I prioritizing relationships and experiences over distractions?
