šŸš€ It’s Not Just Delegation—It’s ā€œWho, Not Howā€

šŸ”‘ The skill (and luck) of finding the right people to level up as an entrepreneur or leader.

šŸ“Œ Introduction

I just finished reading 10X Is Easier Than 2X by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy—the book I mentioned yesterday.

I had previously read their other book, Who Not How, and while I was already familiar with the concept, I realized this has been the bottleneck I’ve struggled with for the past year. As a solopreneur, I’ve scattered my focus and attention, trying to do everything myself.

Delegation has always been a challenge for me, even when I had a team in my full-time humanitarian work.

A few weeks ago, during a coaching training, we had a mock coaching session with another participant. After just one session, she pointed out the same issue:
šŸ’¬ "Maybe you should consider hiring someone."

I hesitated, saying:
šŸ›‘ "I can’t afford it right now, and I don’t want to exploit anyone."

She responded with a perspective shift:
šŸ’” "What about an intern? I once interned for someone doing similar work, and I gained so much from it."

This conversation made me rethink how leveraging the right "who"—not just figuring out "how"—is the real path to scaling.

šŸ‘„ Who, Not How

The core principle of Who Not How is simple: stop asking, "How do I do this?" and start asking, "Who can help me do this?"

Instead of trying to master every skill and solve every problem yourself, find the right people who can take those tasks off your plate—people who are already great at what you need.

šŸ’” This is how leaders and entrepreneurs scale from level one to level two and beyond.

šŸ”„ Instead of spending weeks learning a new skill, hire someone who already has it.
šŸ”„ Instead of doing repetitive tasks, delegate them so you can focus on your zone of genius.
šŸ”„ Instead of being stuck in the weeds, create a system where the work moves forward without you.

The most successful people I know—especially those who climbed the career ladder rapidly—were brutally good at finding the "Who's" and delegating as much as possible.
⚔ Sometimes, I even found myself criticizing them for delegating even personal or mundane tasks to their assistants. But looking back, I now realize they weren’t lazy; they were optimizing.

This doesn’t mean mindlessly outsourcing everything—it means being strategic about where your energy is best spent.

šŸ“š Lessons & Takeaways

šŸ›  Small Changes, Big Impact – Shifting from "how" to "who" doesn’t require a massive budget—it starts with small experiments.

🧠 Overcoming Resistance – The hardest part of delegating isn’t finding the right person—it’s letting go of control and trusting others.

šŸ“ˆ Building a Sustainable System – The right "who" helps you scale, not just in business, but in any area of life.

As Dan Sullivan puts it:
"If you spend your time doing things you’re bad at, you’re taking away from the things you’re great at."
